Infield was founded in 2022 with a mission to get companies off the hamster wheel of open source software maintenance. We’ve felt firsthand the pain of managing thousands of open source packages that are constantly releasing new versions. We’ve seen the effects of an application going stale, opening itself up to security vulnerabilities, compliance headaches, and dependency lock-in.
Before Infield, we worked as consultants helping teams upgrade large, legacy codebases. We found ourselves repeating the same research, planning, and remediation work again and again. Ultimately, we recognized that every customer doing an upgrade for the first and only time is taking on significant risk. You can read more about Infield's journey, as well as Steve's, in his blog post.
